Description

Three Polish mathematicians and cryptologists who in 1932 solved the plugboard-equipped Enigma machine, the main cipher device used by Germany. Their success jump-started British reading of Enigma in World War II; the intelligence so gained, code-named "Ultra", contributed, perhaps decisively, to the defeat of Nazi Germany.
From left:
- Jerzy Witold Różycki (1909 - 1942)
- Henryk Zygalski (1908 - 1978)
- Marian Adam Rejewski (1905 – 1980)

Eeeee. I've been reading up on codes and their ilk for a while now, and Enigma has really fascinated me. Such a treasure to be able to see these pictures. Thank you.
